Hints on Bride and Groom Speeches

  1. Prepare something. Even if you are a clever on the spot speaker, emotions will overcome you (and surprise you), be prepared just in case)
  2. Practise it with someone. Use them as a sounding board. It is not like a school speech, nor a business presentation. In front of all your nearest and dearest, you will want to make sure you can get the words out
  3. If you think you might lose it – give it to a trusty keeper in your bridal party until the reception
  4. Don’t forget the little thank you’s. A small parent name mention, goes a long way
  5. Keep a copy – you will treasure it years down the track
